Some Important Tips in Using AquaOasis Humidifier

  • If the unit is not lying flat, unplug it and then adjust it.
  • Keep the humidifier away from other electrical appliances and furniture.
  • Avoid pouring water into the water tank while the machine is running, as you risk burning the unit’s transducer.
  • Never touch the oscillating transduction piece with any sharp object.
  • Ensure that no water flows into the unit’s base, as this can damage the electric system.
  • If the room temperature is below 32°F/0°C, empty the water tank immediately as frozen water in the water tank can severely damage the humidifier.
  • Don’t place any metal or chemicals into the water tank as this can reduce its performance.
  • Never place the unit near hot air or a heating unit.
  • Don’t place the humidifier in direct sunlight.

How to Clean an AquaOasis humidifier

For regular cleaning:

  • Unplug the humidifier.
  • Clean the humidifier’s surface using a soft wet cloth to remove the stains. Rinse the nozzle directly with tap water to clean it properly.
  • Remove the water tank’s lid. Clean the water tank once every two to three weeks.
  • Wipe away any scale using a soft brush and rinse it with water.
  • Clean the water bath once a week.
  • If you see some scale accumulated in the water bath, wipe it off with a cloth soaked in mild vinegar solution and rinse it with water.
  • Rinse it with water and air dry.

For Deep Cleaning

To deep clean an AquaOasis humidifier, you can use alcohol or white vinegar. It is better to deep clean your humidifier at least once a month.

Using Alcohol

  • Unplug the humidifier and turn it off.
  • Take off the water tank.
  • Remove the cap and pour some alcohol into the water tank’s cap, water inlet, mist outlet, and base. Allow it to sit for up to 5 minutes for proper cleaning. Avoid using chemical solvents like gasoline, kerosene, or polishing powder for cleaning.
  • Clean it using a sponge or a soft cleaning brush. Rinse all parts with hot water.
  • Make sure that the water doesn’t get into the motor.

Using White Vinegar

To Remove mold, mineral build-up and hard stains, use white vinegar when cleaning the humidifier.

  • Unplug the humidifier. Remove the water tank from the base of the humidifier.
  • Remove the water tank’s lid and turn it upside down.
  • Pour some water into the water tank and add white vinegar (1 tablespoon of white vinegar for 32 ounces of water).
  • Screw the lid back on and shake the water tank a few times. Then leave it for about 30 minutes.
  • Next add diluted white vinegar to the humidifier’s base (don’t shake it as the water might spill into the electric circuit of the unit) and leave it for 30 minutes.
  • Discard water from the water tank and base.
  • Rinse all parts with tap water.
  • Air dry all the parts and then assemble them.

What does the Red Light on my AquaOasis Humidifier Mean?

A red light on an AquaOasis humidifier indicates that the water tank needs refilling. To turn off the red light, refill the water tank. The other less common cause of red light turning on is insufficient water in the humidifier’s base. This can happen if:

  • The rubber stopper on the screw cap of the water tank is displaced from its position.
  • The base and water tank are not perfectly placed together, hindering a proper quantity of water from entering the base.

To fix this problem, make sure that the rubber topper is correctly positioned, and the water tank sits perfectly on the base.

Can you Use Essential Oils in an AquaOasis humidifier?

Essential oils should not be added or used in an AquaOasis cool mist humidifier. AquaOasis recommends only water should be added to the water tank. These units are designed to maintain humidity levels by ultrasonic misting and are not meant to diffuse essential oils or other fragrances.

A diffuser should be used when you want to disperse essential oils around your home.

Why is my AquaOasis Humidifier not turning on?

An AquaOasis humidifier will not turn on if the power cord is not connected to the power outlet properly, the power switch is not turned on or if water has entered the circuit board. An empty water tank may also prevent an AquaOasis humidifier from turning on.

To fix this issue, try connecting the power cord correctly and check if the power is turned on. To fix the circuit board issue, you’ll have to contact customer support.

Why my AquaOasis Humidifier is not misting?

An AquaOasis humidifier will not mist if there is Insufficient water in the water tank. The misting function will also not operate if the automatic constant humidity knob is turned off or the water level float cap not pressed down.

To fix these problems, fill up the water tank, turn on the constant humidity knob clockwise, and hold down the water level float cap.

Why does my AquaHumidifier mist with an unusual odor?

The mist from an AquaOasis humidifier can smell if the unit is brand new or the water is not clean. The brand-new smell is the result of plastic off-gassing.

To avoid the smell from the new unit, open the water tank and keep it in the shade for 12 hours. Regularly clean the water tank or replace it if worn out to avoid an unusual odor from the mist.

Can I add distilled water to an AquaOasis Humidifier?

Distilled or tap water can be added to the water tank of an AquaOasis humidifier. Ensure that the water temperature does not exceed 104°F/40oC to avoid discoloration or damage to the unit.

How often should I clean my AquaOasis Humidifier?

AquaOasis recommends cleaning the humidifier once a week. Deep clean the unit at least once a month to avoid microbial growth.
